Update Update
Trees.
Its taking me ages, but I've decided to go with manually placing trees. It looks alot more realistic, and is alot more flexable than my previous technique of 'tree-ing-up-a-map', which was to stick a few trees (3) in the vegetation painter and randomly paint the hills.
Ofcourse this was alot quicker (and like hell im going to manually tree airscape, that was a huge map), but looked pretty... fake.
Hopefully this will look alot better.
I have included a few smaller shots on the right, close ups of the currently only treed area.
I thought the top shot looked pretty cool, because you can see a light patched caused by the gap in the trees, man the CryEngine rocks.
